Awards

-Out of all the Academy Awards, only 5 female filmmakers have ever been

nominated, and only one has ever won

-since the Academy Awards began (1928), only 16% of the nominees have been women, 84% have been men

-72% of Oscar voters are male

OUT OF THE TOP 250 FILMS OF 2017: 

-92% were directed by men 

-Only 10% of studios had female assistants on set including gaffers, key grips, or sound editors (90% of studios had no female assistants)

-women made up only 37% of the speaking roles 

-85% scripted by males 

-In family films, male characters outnumbered female characters 2:1

-88% had no female directors 

-83% had no female writers

-80% had no female editors

-96% had no female cinematographers 

-Highest-paid actresses made a collective total of $127.5 million, the highest-paid male actors made a collective of $488.5million

-Highest-paid actor made $68 million, Highest paid actress made $26 million
